Harvest Mufti Day

23rd October 2015

As part of their R.E. lessons looking at the festivals celebrated by different religions, Class Tamar explored the traditional Christian Harvest Festival. During the lesson they started a discussion about failed harvests and children who go hungry because there is not enough food. This led onto the children thinking how they could help these children. They had many good ideas to raise money for those less fortunate than themselves but in the end they decided they would like to follow the Harvest Festival tradition of bringing in food to distribute to others.

Class Tamar extended the invitation to the whole school to help with this venture. On Friday 23rd October the children  brought in a food donations and wore mufti. The donations will be taken to a local food bank.

We would like to thank everyone for their generous donations! We collected enough food to fill 6 big boxes! Well done everyone.
