Summer Term 2 2018

Friday 29th June
We have been making the most of the weather this week.
As part of a whole school day on our 'Do we need plastic?' topic on Wednesday we had fun designing water carriers out of paper and evaluating the designs to see what features worked best. We also came up with design ideas for re-imagining recyclable materials into something new.
Yesterday we were utilising our rounders skills and deciding what skills were needed in different positions for the most effective fielding team.
Today we cleared the dens of brambles etc so that they are usable for everyone at break and lunchtimes. We can have fun in the shade with them.
We also went through what we are going to be doing at Mount Batten as well as how we are going to keep safe. It is nearly upon us and we are all excited - adults included. Mrs Ferguson will next see us in Cawsand Square at 9am on Wednesday morning.

Homework
Pack for Mount Batten
Friday 15th June
We have taken part in a lot of physical activity this week.
On Tuesday we did PE with Class Tamar, playing rounders and quick cricket. We won both despite having a lot fewer team members. We all used our R and R and showed good team spirit.
Yesterday we had a dodgeball tournament in our houses and Wales won.
Today we played tennis with Class Cremyll, refining our skills.
Elsewhere we have looked at fractions, area and perimeter in maths and enjoyed addition fraction bingo.
For English we have started a poetry topic looking at Benjamin Zephaniah's poem For Word. We wrote our own stanza to fit the style. We also looked at how fact and opinion can be shown in writing and focussed on the structure of a persuasive argument.
Today we had a visit for parents from an instructor from Mount Batten in preparation for our Outdoor Ed trip. A copy of the presentation can be found below. An information pack will follow in due course. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.
