Cornwall Energy Recycling Centre Trip - June 2025

20 children from both Fourlanesend and Carbeile visited the Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre at St Dennis. The trip, which is funded by SUEZ, had a STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) focus and the children got to see where all our waste within Cornwall ends up - there was an awful lot! They also learned about how we can reduce this waste through reducing and reusing before recycling. The last step is to incinerate the waste to provide energy to power Cornish homes. The leftover ash is then used for aggregate and road building! The children were a credit to the school and asked some great questions.
