In English we were making poems using portmanteau in the style of the Jabberwocky. We used daright which is a mixture of dark and night.
In fencing we played matches. Both Phoebe's were victorious.
We are looking forward to running our stalls this afternoon.

Last day in Bath and a trip to the Abbey, then some unplanned learning as we watched a long boat move through a canal lock.
Treasure trail rained off so time for some games.
On our second day in Bath we have visited the Roman Baths where we took part in a great workshop involving: mosaics, dressing up in togas and looking at artefacts the Romans used - including an ear wax spoon! We then made our way to the Holburne museum where we learnt all about the Renaissance period, completed an eye-spy quiz and made our own embossed medals!
We are now back the youth hostel playing some games.
What a fantastic first day in Bath, we had a great walking tour with Fred and learnt so much about the history of Bath and the many layers! We are full to the brim after a lovely evening meal. Everyone is happy and excited for the rest of the trip.
Friday 30th June
In DT we made our final dishes. We are really proud of what we made. We thought about what we enjoyed in the dish and what we could make even better.
Mrs Ferguson was really impressed in computing because we all finished and exported our videos ready for evaluating. It is a bit a scary but fun to see ourselves on screen.
Year 6 had their end of term treat and went to Trethorne where they were brilliantly behaved and got to see the animals, go on bumper boats, go karts and lots of indoor play.

No homework except reading

Friday 23rd June
In music we have been making a hook for a song. We came up with the words and then made a melody for it.
In science we learnt about the life cycle of amphibians, mammals, birds and insects and compared them. We learnt that amphibians and insects can both go through metamorphosis.
We have been writing an informal letter in English from our main character in Holes to his mum. We used a new editing technique called SURPRISES which really helped us.
In DT we chose recipes to make that include seasonal food but are also balanced like the Eatwell Plate. We will be making them next week.
Thank you we had a full house of reading this week. Keep it up.
